Ballet Califia invited us to join them in a mid-summer performance
in the midst of the giant redwoods behind the Library in Mill
Valley. We were in our element in the forest, inspired by nature.

Mill Valley Council for the Arts regularly
invites local performing artists to showcase their talent
in Mill Valley's downtown plaza. It
was a beautiful California day - perfect for hula dancing
except for one thing....we're barefoot on hot brick pavement....oooouch!
Ancient hula was never performed at this fast
pace (Kumu was trying to get us back into the shade as quickly
as possible). People were asking if the copious amounts
of (bottled) water that Kumu sprinkled on the ground before
each dance was part of the ritual! |
